The Area

Casa LeGaDo is located within the development of Mar Vista in Flamingo Beach and has 24/7 security, offers a large community pool, swim-up bar, and an exceptional restaurant Gracia, with fabulous ocean views day and night. There is a yoga deck, hiking and biking trails, and tennis courts on the property.

Flamingo Beach is part of the Costa Rican Riviera and is located only 1.5 miles from the property. Flamingo boasts a beautiful mile-long white sand beach with a mild current and tide. This beach is perfect for swimming and sunning. One of the world’s most famous surfing beaches Playa Grande is only 15 minutes by car and the bustling surf town of Tamarindo is close enough to offer you more fun shopping, surf classes, and a bountiful selection of restaurants and nightspots. The Community

Mar Vista is located just up the road from the new Flamingo Marina, the gated community is one of the most prestigious and sought-after developments in Guanacaste. In addition to going through the main guard gate, visitors will also need access to the sub-section of Miramar. This was the first and most unique area of Mar Vista.

Places to know

Gracia

This will be your favorite spot, I'm sure of it. This is our little local clubhouse, with great food, wonderful drinks, and a pool with a jaw-dropping view. They are open every day but Tuesday. They have lunch and dinner every night with fun specials that pop up for special occasions. Plus the owner is a huge Chiefs fan.

Patagonia Del Mar - Pool

Patagonia has it all great food and a pool!! Order some drinks and chill at the pool for a few hours while the staff takes great care of you. I recommend going there for brunch, hanging out by the pool, having a few, then heading to the beach.

Flamingo Beach

is just a quick 2-3 minutes away with a right out of Mar Vista. You will follow the road left and it will turn to dirt and from there you will be at the beach and you will want to look for somewhere to park. There will be many people ready and willing to get you a tent and chairs set up for $40. Feel free to bring all your goodies, snacks, drinks, and music. You will want to make a day of it. While you are hanging there will be lots of Ticos around offering coconuts or pineapples full of booze. They are wonderful, but ask them to make them strong or pour the booze in front of you. There is also a Margaritaville across the street as well where you can go grab drinks. 

Brasalito Beach

Outside Mar Vista to the left, just past Patagonia Del Mar is the second beach to visit Brasalito Beach. There is a parking lot across the street from Patagonia that you can park in or further down the road. Lots of the same options with pre-setup chairs and umbrellas for a fee, as well as many close options for drinks and snacks as needed. 

Las Catalines

This is a town about 15 min away and consists of houses, shops, restaurants, small hotels, inns, plazas, parks, and recreational facilities. All elements are arranged to create a series of wonderful, walkable public spaces interwoven with nature. Architecture is adapted for outdoor living. Motorized vehicles are refreshingly absent as it is a walking town.

Nearby Waterfall

“Llanos de Cortez” Waterfall, near Libera, about 45 min is a must-see. The cost of visiting the falls is $7 per person. Parking is easy and the walk to the falls is less than 5 min. Pack a lunch, some beers, and a beach sheet to have a little waterfall picnic. *Traveler Tip* don't leave your stuff to go on a "private hike". The falls close at 4 pm, so time things properly.

Fitness Center

is located right down the street from the house, next to Gracia and we have full access to the gym. They also offer daily fitness classes at the yoga center.

Tamarindo

Is the local "cool" town and where most of the tourism exists in the area. This town is about 20-30 min away from Mar Vista, however, if you try and go near sunset, it could take 60 min or more. Tamarindo is a wonderful place for shopping as well as additional food and beverage options.

Nails and Spa

Nimbu, is a salon near the dance and the lawyer. Looks clean and has many options for services. There is also a med spa in that same strip mall, the Health and Beauty Clinic, thought it might be fun to pop in. 

Fish Market

If you are wanting to cook fish for dinner, dont get the frozen stuff from the grocery store. Go to the fish market, on the way to Brasilito, before you get to Patagonia, on the left, a little blue house set back. Has a "Fish Market" on the outside.

Grocery Shopping

Super Massai Grocery is close to the house if you are leaving Mar Vista you will head to the right and its about 4 min down the road, on the right. You will be able to get everything you need there, and you can pay with a credit card. Make sure you bring a reusable bag if possible. 

Gourmet grocery store is on the way to Huacas, pronounced Wa-ka-ahs, in a little strip mall the store is called La Carniceria, its on the first floor on the corner. Next to the nail salon.

Playa Grande Beach

Playa Grande beach is miles long of fine, pale sand; perfect for those who enjoy surfing and a non-touristy experience. Make sure to bring your own chairs and tent for this beach.

Restaurants

Conchal, Brasilito, Flamingo and Potrero areas offer wonderful restaurants and bars. We've created a list to help you plan your dining experiences and become familiar with the area. Most restaurants take reservations (recommended in high season) and can be reached using WhatsApp.

  • Located in Las Catalinas this sunset “must-see” is a 5-star experience featuring a sea – farm to table menu, making everything uniquely local. Voted one of the world’s most romanic restaurants, by CNN. Make sure you get there before sunset, because dinner will come with the view of a lifetime, fire, and a gong.


  • Located at the new Flamingo Marina Hazels is a nice restaurant featuring Steak and Seafood using only local ingredients. *Try the smoked old fashion, its dinner and show.

  • This amazing restaurant is right on the beach, on your way to Brasilito. You can still get to the restaurant without going around the bridge detour. This restaurant is great for many things, its got a great breakfast lots of coffee and cocktail options to start your day, wonderful lunch spot while you watch the surfers OR sit by the pool. Then at night, it gets a little fancy, with great wine and even better food. Patagonia is great for a quick bit or a whole day poolside hang with great service and the best atmosphere. You won't want to leave. I recommend going there for brunch, hanging out by the pool, having a few, then heading to the beach.


  • This is great for a night you don’t want to cook or leave the house. Canatico is a great little place that will deliver. To place an order you use Whatsapp. +506 6150 0994. They have their menu on WhatsApp as well. 

  • Food, drinks, and vibes are always the best at Surfbox, located at the Flamingo Marina. Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner or cocktails with Indoor/outdoor seating available.
